Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@rycowellness.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a membership-based healthcare model where patients pay a flat monthly fee directly to their primary care provider in exchange for comprehensive primary care services. This model eliminates the need for insurance billing, allowing for more personalized and accessible care.

How is DPC different from traditional insurance-based care?
Unlike traditional healthcare models that rely on insurance for payment, DPC operates on a fixed monthly fee. This allows for longer visits, same-day or next-day appointments, direct communication with your provider, and no surprise medical bills.

Does DPC replace health insurance?
No, DPC is not health insurance. While it covers primary care services, it does not cover hospitalizations, surgeries, or specialist visits. Patients are encouraged to carry a high-deductible health plan or a health-sharing plan for emergencies and specialty care

How much does DPC cost?
DPC membership fees vary by practice, but at RyCo Wellness, our pricing is as follows:

  • Individual: $75/month
  • Family (up to 4 members): $200/month
  • Each additional family member: $25/month
  • Teachers: $55/month

Are there additional fees for office visits or procedures?
No, your membership fee covers office visits, preventive care, chronic disease management, and basic procedures. Some additional services may be available at discounted rates, prices for these services can be viewed on our website.

Can I cancel my membership at any time?

Yes, DPC memberships are typically month-to-month, allowing patients to cancel with proper notice.

Do I have to be a member to become a patient?

No, we are happy to see you on a pay-per-visit basis. Price list for each visit can be found under the "services" section.

What services are included in my membership?
Your DPC membership includes:

  • Office visits
  • Same-day or next-day appointments
  • Preventive care and wellness exams
  • Chronic disease management
  • Minor urgent care (suturing, wound care, etc.)
  • In-office procedures (EKG, skin biopsies, joint injections, etc.)
  • Direct communication with your provider via phone, text, or email

What if I need labs, imaging, or specialist care?
You may still use your insurance for labs and imaging, or we can discuss getting discounted cash pay rates for these services. For specialist care, your provider will refer you as needed, and you may use your insurance or cash-pay options depending on your preference.

Can I still use my insurance for other medical needs?
Yes, you can use your insurance for services outside of DPC, such as hospitalizations, specialist visits, labs, imaging, and prescriptions. DPC is designed to complement, not replace, insurance.

Who can join a DPC practice?
Anyone can join a DPC practice! Whether you're uninsured, self-employed, or have traditional insurance but want better access to care, DPC is a great option for affordable, high-quality primary care.

Do I need to live near the practice to join?
While in-person visits are encouraged, we offer telemedicine services, allowing patients to receive virtual care even if they live outside the immediate area. Kendra is licensed in Colorado as well as Arizona.

What ages do you treat?

RyCo Wellness provides care for patients across the lifespan—from pediatrics to adults. We offer personalized, whole-person care tailored to each stage of life, focusing on prevention, wellness, and long-term health.

Do you see Medicare or senior patients?

We ask that you contact our office to discuss your individual situation and available options.

We are happy to review how our services can work alongside your Medicare coverage and help determine the best approach for your care.

What is your vaccine policy?
We take a neutral, patient-centered approach to vaccines. We believe each patient should have the ability to make informed decisions based on their individual health needs and personal preferences.

We are happy to discuss the benefits and risks of vaccines so you can feel confident in making the choice that’s right for you and your family.

Do you give vaccines in office?
While we do not stock or administer vaccines in our office due to space limitations, we can provide guidance and direct you to trusted local pharmacies or facilities that offer vaccination services.
